There is a known issue with saving references from Library Search (Ex Libris Primo) to EndNote on Mac computers using the Safari browser where the reference's code appears on the screen instead of saving to a file. We don't currently have a workaround for this in Safari. (With the previous version of the library catalogue it was possible to save references to the Downloads folder, open that folder, and then save the files to EndNote.)

The easiest way to save references on Mac is to install a Firefox internet browser (see link) and follow these steps:

  • Select reference in Library search:
    • individually by clicking on the ENDNOTE/RIS button, or
    • in a group by selecting each reference with the pin button, and then going to the pin icon at the top of the screen (favourites). Select the items in your favourites list and click on the button with three dots for export options. (See screenshot below)

  • The file name will appear on the screen. Click on the file to save it to EndNote. (You may need to tell your computer to open this file type in EndNote the first time you do this.)
